Halloween at Honeydukes

Happy Halloween!

Kana and Lily (and Sam hiding in the back) here.  We're having a study break/tea party at Honeydukes to celebrate.  (Yes, we're still here.  The human managed to acquire an 1840s schoolhouse up in the wilds of Vermont, and has been occupied getting it set up for other humans and us.  We will, at some point, have our very own one room schoolhouse.)

But that's not what you came here for.  You came here for what lovely food we have.  The menu for afternoon tea is cauldron cakes. chocolate covered strawberries, pasties, pumpkin tarts, and the obligatory Honeydukes candy:  a chocolate frog and a box of sugary butterfly wings.

Sam's off reading about quidditch and other fun library books (Lily's studying potions again, and I have a few chapters of history of magic to work through.  Much less fun.)  The 'afternoon snack for 1' has a cauldron cake, 2 pasties, and a chocolate frog.  There are so many chocolate frogs everywhere.

Owl la carte, anyone?
And if you want individual cakes to go, just pay the owl on the cart.  You have your choice of tarts (pumpkin, lime, citron, or bakewell), caudron cakes, and candy.  By the box or the half dozen.
Orders, anyone?  If you place them now with the human, she can have them ready by Christmas.

Summer Picnic

Kana here.  I swear we're all still here, even if we're not getting out as much as we used to.  The weather has been nice enough, and the human managed to find a free weekend to take us out to the park for a picnic.  We all packed our own lunches, and Shep managed to find the hidden stash of Nuka-cola and packed enough for all of us.

The giant chocolate covered strawberries

Sam and Nellie are the traditional picnic sort, with sandwiches, apples, and cookies.  And they were the ones who packed a tupperware box full of chocolate covered strawberries, which they were kind enough to share.

I packed a picnic bento with sandwiches, fried shrimp, inari, and other standard bento goodies.  Lily just raided Honeydukes.  Because she could.

Emergency Pizza

Cauthrien here.  I've kicked everyone else out of the kitchen for the moment to actually make some food.  Aren't these pizzas gorgeous?

One is a pepperoni, bell pepper, and onion pizza.  The other a bacon, bell pepper, and onion.  They're both small pizzas, the equivalent of a 10" pizza for humans.  They also fit on my baking sheets (which is why they're not bigger).  The other girls haven't had a chance to try them yet, so I'll have to keep the furry bandit away.

A spring bakery scene

Anora here!  Welcome to our bakery!

(Don't ask about who made the food.  Really.  It's better for everyone that way.  Also, we're not liable for anything that happens if you decide to eat something Lily made.)

This is actually what happens when the human get curious about just how much miniature food and food-shaped erasers actually exist in the house.  The answer:  this many.  Enough to fill all the baking trays and then some.  We may have run out of display space before we ran out of pastries.  We certainly used all the trays the human had in storage, plus all the acrylic shelving, plus all the display furniture.

Bread, tarts, pies, and doughnuts

The human may have decided that we no longer need to buy every single new food accessory...  We really don't.  We do need the human to start making doll-sized versions of everything she sees on the Great British Bake Off.  Or we need to hold a bake-off.  That would work too.

"Macarons, anyone?"
"We have lots of cupcakes if you want.  And cakes and eclairs and cream puffs."
"And petit-fours and cookies.  And s'mores."
"We even have some savory sandwiches."
"I can haz?"
Note:  this was set up for at least 3 days without anything being knocked over

Magical potions and other drinks

Cauthrien here.  My only explanation for this is that Anora convinced me I should do this.  I do not have any idea why she thinks this is a good idea other than she's spent far too much time with Shep and Lily recently.  I am, usually, the last person you want attempting to hold polite conversation.  Yet here I am, attempting to man the drinks counter.

You can tell, by the number of things that only vaguely resemble drinks, that Lily's been rather busy.  I do not know or care to know what her potions do.  I only want them to be not my problem.  Which, at the moment, they are.

Refreshing Nuka Cola.  In six flavors.
Somewhere, I know we have actual drinks.  But for now, we have some rather exotic (and radioactive) Nuka Cola, in original, cherry, victory, quantum, and quartz.  This can't actually be blamed on Lily.  It's entirely the human's fault.

Honeydukes Treats

Sam here to show off the huge variety of treats from our Honeydukes snack cart.  It being December, and thus Christmas, we asked for a giant pile of peppermint candy.

The glass jar is actually from a tiny Yankee Candle Company candle.  It's also the perfect size to store our stash of ribbon candy.  And the human managed to find some super tiny (1" square) ziploc bags for all the tiny peppermints.  The peppermints come in red, green, and super swirly.  (They were totally not made with random bits of clay left over from making ribbon candy.  Nope.)

Here it is super close up for scale.  The ribbon candy actually comes in three different patterns, and so do the candy canes.

Then we've got some butter and chocolate cookies.  The human always stockpiles Danish butter cookies during the holidays, so we figured we should too.

We also got some new petit fours with a fleur-de-lis decoration and matching pastel macarons.

For the Honeydukes specialties, we have a set (many sets, really) of wizard snacks with a cauldron cake, a pumpkin pastie, and a pair of chocolate frogs (milk and dark chocolate, thank you very much).

And finally, we have a trio of Christmas themed macarons.  The red and green macarons have a white cream filling, and the swirl macaron has a chocolate filling.  Now we just need the human to sit down and watch the Great British Bake Off for more inspiration for more food for us.  I still want a full afternoon tea menu with scones and finger sandwiches.
